Learn MorePivot Point Cares for Kids, spearheaded in 1997, supports the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Learn MoreWe put our passion and resources where our community needs it most. From day one, Pivot Point has been a founding and ongoing supporter of Beauty Changes Lives, a non-profit driven to make professional beauty a first-choice career.
With generous support from Pivot Point and other industry leading companies and beauty community contributors, BCL has awarded hundreds of scholarships and is aligned with our mission to support salon, spa and barber professionals throughout their entire career path—from prospective students to seasoned artists to beauty entrepreneurs.
In 2014, the Passage family donated $1 million to Beauty Changes Lives to create the Leo Passage Scholarship Fund to provide scholarships as well as engaging competition opportunities and other lifelong learning experiences.
In 2015, Beauty Changes Lives honored Passage, who had passed away in 2011, with its first Legacy Award in tandem with a new Beauty Changes Lives Experience. This event brings the entire industry together to recognize and celebrate the creative, competitive spirit of hair artistry and career to inspire and help secure its future. It is held in Leo Passage’s hometown of Chicago, and the Pivot Point family proudly remains at the heart of Beauty Changes Lives and the Beauty Changes Lives Experience.
Pivot Point takes seriously our role as a connector and source for those throughout the professional salon, spa and barbering community. We also work hard to make sure those outside our industry understand, respect and value beauty and hair professionals and their rights.
One of many ways Pivot Point applies human and financial resources is through the American Association of Cosmetology Schools Government Relations Committee (AACS GRC).
Pivot Point Chairman and CEO Robert Passage is a former longstanding board member of AACS, and serves as a present and active global ambassador to protect licensure and the livelihood of all those who chose careers related to the professional beauty industry.
Pivot Point’s commitment to keeping children safe and out of harm’s way is unwavering. Selecting the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children® (NCMEC) as a principle cause each year helps raise awareness of this crucial resource across the beauty industry. This cause touches many lives of participants who have children, or who have family members or friends with children; we won’t have children harmed on beauty’s watch.
Started by the late Corrine Passage, Pivot Point Cares for Kids organizes annual nationwide fundraising activities every May, hosted by our beauty industry partners, to support the efforts of the NCMEC. Since 1997 nearly $1.5 million has been raised through Pivot Point Cares for Kids. In 2012, Corinne was recognized for her passion and dedication to the cause with a proclamation declaring May 4 “Corinne Passage Cares for Kids Day” in Evanston, IL.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to help find missing children, reduce child sexual exploitation, and prevent child victimization. NCMEC works with families, victims, private industry, law enforcement, and the public to assist with preventing child abductions, recovering missing children, and providing services to deter and combat child sexual exploitation.
The Pivot Point Cares for Kids initiative can only achieve its goals with the assistance of generous donations from members of our community.
