Highlighting the Next Generation of Sustainable Beauty: Intercoiffure, Green Beauty Community, and Pivot Point Support Eco-Friendly Initiative
Chicago, IL โ October 2024 โ The beauty industry is taking another step toward a more sustainable future with the 2024 Intercoiffure Student Contest, held in collaboration with Pivot Point International and supported by the Green Beauty Community. This yearโs contest, themed โSustainability,โ encouraged students to showcase their creative talents while considering their role in promoting eco-friendly practices within the beauty profession.
Launched in 2022, the Intercoiffure Student Contest aims to connect emerging talent with the professional beauty industry, recognizing students and their instructors for their outstanding work. In 2024, the contest focused on one of the most critical issues of our timeโsustainability. Students were tasked with creating looks that embody what sustainability means to them as future beauty professionals.
Finalists Championing Sustainable Beauty
This yearโs finalists were recognized for their ability to integrate sustainability into their creative process. They presented designs using Pivot Pointโs CAP SERIES, the industryโs most eco-friendly mannequins. These innovative mannequins feature a space-saving design, are easy to transport, and offer customizable mix-and-match head and hair forms. They are also fully recyclable, thanks to Pivot Pointโs collaboration with Green Circle Salons, a leader in salon waste recycling. The CAP SERIES mannequins are available to beauty schools, supporting the beauty industryโs ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility.

She stood out with her innovative and environmentally conscious design, earning recognition onstage at the prestigious Intercoiffure Fall Atelier in New York.
โHaving the opportunity to be part of this contest has been such an incredible experience. And Iโm so thankful that Pivot Point and Intercoiffure provide students like me with such special opportunities like this one. While working on this project, I took inspiration from nature and incorporated it into my mannequin’s final look to represent sustainability and what it means to me. I definitely faced some challenges while making my vision come to life. However, Iโm so thankful that I kept going because, in the end, it was all worth it. Winning this competition has made me realize that even as a cosmetology student, there is still so much opportunity out there and that I am capable of accomplishing things bigger than myself.โ โ Kenleigh Franse
โI want to thank Intercoiffure and Pivot Point for giving students a platform and opportunity to showcase their talent. And getting their name out there before they even graduate beauty school!โ โ Lindsey Moore
