Meet Michelle LaMantia of Pivot Point Academy in Northwest Suburbs

September 18th, 2018

The beauty industry had been in my life and exciting for me at an early age. My grandmother was a licensed cosmetologist. Her hours were spent in my grandmother’s salon, Marian’s, located in LaSalle, Illinois. This experience influenced and inspired my desire to complete the high school vocational program and continue 1,500 hours of education and testing for my license at Educators of Beauty, a Pivot Point member school also located in LaSalle.

I moved to Naperville. Specializing in sculpting and style behind the chair for 10 years at Zano Salon & Spa. I also started an onsite wedding hair business. Those 10+ years have been invaluable to my current position as Director of Student Salon and Spa and Director of Admissions at Pivot Point Academy in Bloomingdale, Illinois.

I truly LOVE what I do! Hard work? Yes! Every minute was worth it. I never stop learning or educating myself. There are no limitations with this career. Every day I am inspired by the energy and passion of our students! They truly are the future of our thriving beauty industry. I apply my experiences to help mentor these students from the day we first meet to the very last minute they clock out. There is never a dry eye when they complete the program. Each and every student is unique and I make sure their experience is memorable and everlasting. Once a Pivot Point student, always a Pivot Point student. We are family, and that is what inspires me to do what I do every day. When you feel it in your heart, you know what you are doing is right. Pivot Point Academy has done that for me, and it wouldn’t be without our students. #iampivotpoint
